HIV AIDs Test Results in a Laboratory

By Odongo Geoffrey:

The District Health Educator of Apac Geoffrey Paul Onyik has spoken of an increase in the spread of HIV/Aids among youths aged between 14 and 24 in Apac district alone.

Onyik said from the findings of a survey they conducted throughout the district, most of the youth between 14 to 24 years are HIV positive.

Onyik was on Wednesday addressing the youth that gathered at Apac Boma ground for the Open Youth Day celebration organised by Reproductive Health Uganda, Apac Branch.

He attributed the increasing rate of infections to the high level of sexual immorality among the adolescence.

Onyik said with the level of infections, Uganda as a nation will not achieve its vision of being free of HIV/Aids by 2030 unless a lot of sensitization is done on behavioral change.

He appeal to every Ugandan to voluntarily go for HIV counseling and testing and that for those found to be positive, they should follow the medical advise.
