The report yet to be released by the police also indicates that there has been a very level of other forms of violence against children. According to the report, 419 children have been victims of child neglect, 44 suffered from sexual abuses, 6 were stolen, among other crimes in 2017. The report however indicates that apart from among the many different crimes committed against children in 2017, there was no case of child sacrifice or kidnap. When asked for comments, the officer in charged Family and Child Protection unit at Lira Central Police station declined saying a more comprehensive report is to be released at the regional level.
