Disabled Child Abandoned at Police

Police in Lira district are stuck with a disabled child who has been in their custody for the last three days.
According to the officer in charge family unit Akao Mary, the child in question is dumb hence complicating their investigations.
The officer in charge of child and family protection unit at Lira Central Police Station has decried the rampant cases of child neglect, mostly the disabled children, whom she says gives them hard time to trace their origin to reunite them with families.

Joe Okot, the chairman Acholi community of Lira, says he is faced with big problems to take back children who finds themselves in Lira after boarding trucks that goes to community markets in Acholi only to be abandoned here.
