Lira High Court on Wednesday began receiving the money it awarded as legal costs to the Member of Parliament for Ajuri County in Alebtong District Hon.Denis Hamson Obua arising from a suit filed by his political rival, Isaac Apenyo.
The High Court in Lira had awarded Hon Obua and the NRM party 84 Million Shillings after winning a case in which Apenyo challenged the results of the NRM primaries that he claimed was not duly won by Obua Hamson.
On Wednesday Morning,Lawyers representing Apenyo handed over 14 Million shillings that was raised locally as part of the money to be paid to Hon. Hamson Obua and the NRM party.
Court was then adjourned till the 30th May, 2019 due to the absence of the NRM party representative while they wait for clarification from the NRM party if they are no longer interested in the cost.
