Rt. Rev Joseph Franzelli made the remarks during a sermon to a congregation of over 300 mostly widows gathered at for a conference marked with the celebration of the Feast Day of St. Monica, the Patron Saint of the Widows at Bala Catholic Parish. The participants both wives and widows from three parishes of Bala, Lira Cathedral and Ngetta converged at Bala Catholic parish for a conference and also to celebrate St Monica Feast Day, the Patron Saint of Widows. He added that celebration should be a time for reflection on what God has done and to thank Him especially at this time when Lira Diocese prepares to celebrate its Golden Jubilee, saying it is going to be a blessed year. The Bishop concluded by saying the women should always be Christians on the move, preaching the Good News of the Gospel to the sick and every other person. St. Monica is most remembered as the mother of St. Augustine, and her feast day is August 27th, the day before her son’s day on August 28th. [/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
